Planning Permission

Did you know, when issuing a Planning Permission policy and a Building Regulations policy for the same property, at the same time, the Building Regulations policy is complete FREE of charge?

The Planning Permission legal indemnity insurance policy provides cover when there is a lack of evidence that planning permission has been obtained or complied with (or it is known that its terms or conditions were not complied with) for the following works carried out to a residential and/or commercial property based within England and Wales:

  • the construction of or conversion to a house or flat at least 4 years prior to the policy's commencement date
  • any change of use implemented at least 4 years before the policy's commencement date
  • alterations, additions or extensions carried out to the property at least 12 months before the policy's commencement date where the property is not in a conservation area
  • alterations, additions or extensions carried out to the property at least 4 years before the policy's commencement date where the property is in a conservation area
